Quality Standards
At Woods & Stems, quality isn’t a buzzword.
It’s a set of decisions we make — every step of the way — to ensure our extracts are consistent and responsibly made.

This page outlines how we work.

Fruiting Body Only
We use the fruiting body of the mushroom — the part traditionally used in food, medicine, and research.

We do not use mycelium grown on grain.
That choice matters because the fruiting body contains the compounds most people associate with functional mushrooms, without unnecessary fillers or inflated serving numbers.
Extraction Matters
Mushrooms don’t offer much benefit unless their
compounds are made accessible.
That’s why extraction is central to our process.
We use extraction methods that respect:

-
the chemistry of each mushroom
-
the compounds being targeted
-
the balance between alcohol- and water-soluble components
Our goal isn’t speed or scale — it’s integrity.
No Inflated Numbers
We don’t chase large milligram claims or exaggerated ratios to signal quality

Instead, we focus on what actually matters:

-
concentration
-
process
-
clarity about what’s actually being measured
Small Batches, Consistent Process
Our extracts are made in small batches using a repeatable, documented process.

This allows us to:

-
maintain consistency
-
monitor each batch closely
-
make adjustments when a mushroom requires it
Quality comes from attention, not shortcuts.
Transparency by Default
We believe people deserve to understand what they’re taking.

That’s why we:

-
explain our methods
-
avoid vague claims
-
prioritize clarity over trends
If you ever want to understand why we do something a certain way — the answer is usually simple:
it’s the most honest option.
